Driving and drop-off

Enter the port at Dock Gate 4. At the first roundabout take the 2nd exit and follow Test Road for about a mile. The terminal is on the right.

Taxis and private drop-offs can stop outside the terminal. For what happens next, from the drop-off lanes and bag drop to security and boarding, read our step-by-step guide to the day.

Getting in through Dock Gate 4

Ocean and QEII terminals share Dock Gate 4, and traffic lights on the main road control the way in. On busy days the hold-up is usually those lights rather than the gate itself. Turning left into the gate flows steadily, but the right-turn light is short, so when there's a queue only one or two cars turning right get in for every fifteen or so turning left. If your route gives you the choice, come in from the side that lets you turn left.

Past the gatehouse there's a mini-roundabout, and QEII is the second exit, straight on. Even when Ocean Terminal's queue is long, the road to QEII is usually clear once you're through the roundabout.
