How it works

  1. Choose your ship and date. We show the terminal for your sailing.

  3. Book with the operator. You book and pay the parking company directly.

Parking by ship

Every ship that starts cruises from Southampton in the next year, with its terminal and upcoming dates.

Sailing on a summer weekend? Book early.

About 72% of Southampton sailings leave Friday to Sunday, and car parks hold spaces for cars already booked on other cruises. On the busiest weekends, the cheapest options fill up first.

Last-minute cruise parking

Forgotten to book, or your plans changed? You still have options.

  1. Book online, even the night before. A booking holds your space; turning up without one doesn't.
  2. Don't just turn up at a private car park. Operators often turn away cars without a booking, even when spaces look free, because those spaces are held for cars arriving for later sailings.
  3. Try the official car park for your cruise line: CPS for P&O, Cunard and Princess, or ABParking for Celebrity, Disney, MSC, Norwegian, Royal Caribbean and some Fred Olsen sailings.
  4. Use a council multi-storey. Southampton City Council lets cruise passengers park at its Bedford Place, Eastgate Street and Grosvenor Square multi-storeys without booking. They charge £9–£11 for the first 24 hours, then £5 a day, so about £39–£41 for 7 days (the council's prices in October 2026). They're in the city centre, so take a taxi to your terminal. Check the council's cruise parking page.

Can I walk to the ship from a car park?

At Ocean Terminal, yes: Triangle Parking is about a 4-minute walk and Ocean Way Car Park also sells park & walk. City and Horizon terminals have ABP's own car parks next to them and are 12–15 minutes' walk from Southampton Central station. Mayflower and QEII are about a mile inside the port, so use meet & greet, park & ride or official valet. Terminal guides →

Which terminal does my ship use?

Most ships use the same terminal each time, but some move between sailings. Our ship guides show the terminal from the port's provisional schedule where it's published, and the usual terminal otherwise. Your cruise documents confirm it. Find your ship →

What's the difference between meet & greet, park & ride and park & walk?

With meet & greet you hand over your keys at the terminal and someone parks your car. With park & ride you park yourself and take a short transfer. With park & walk you park yourself and walk to the terminal. Compare the options →

What if my car park is full?

Operators hold spaces for cars already booked on other cruises, so they can turn people away even when they look empty. About 72% of Southampton sailings leave Friday to Sunday, so summer weekends fill first. Book early and compare several operators. Compare operators →

Is there official parking at the port?

Yes. CPS runs official valet parking for P&O, Cunard and Princess sailings. ABParking runs ABP's car parks next to City and Horizon terminals for Celebrity, Disney, MSC, Norwegian, Royal Caribbean and some Fred Olsen sailings. Official parking tends to cost more. See official parking prices →

How far in advance should I book cruise parking?

As soon as your cruise is booked, especially for summer weekend sailings. Every product we checked on Holiday Extras and APH came with free cancellation, so booking early costs little. Read each operator's terms, though: Cruise Azure, for example, only refunds within 14 days of booking and charges a £25 fee. Compare operators →

Can I turn up on the day without booking?

Not at a private car park. On busy days operators often turn drivers away even when spaces look empty, because those spaces are promised to cars arriving for later sailings. Book ahead, even if it's the night before. If you're stuck, the council's city-centre multi-storeys take cruise passengers without a booking. Last-minute options →

Do I keep my car keys?

With park & walk (Triangle, Ocean Way) and ABP's on-port car parks you park yourself and keep your keys. With meet & greet and CPS valet you hand your keys over at the terminal. Compare the options →

Can I park a van, motorhome or tall vehicle?

Check the limits before you book. Triangle Parking takes vehicles up to 5.5m long and 2.1m high, Ocean Way Car Park has a 2m height barrier, and Airlynx doesn't take vans, minibuses or motorhomes. Ask the operator if your vehicle is unusually large. See operator details →

Is there EV charging for cruise parking?

Ocean Way Car Park in Ocean Village, which sells park & walk for Ocean Terminal, has Type 2 and Tesla chargers. They're first come, first served and paid through the Monta app. Ocean Terminal guide →

How do I get to the cruise terminals by train?

Go to Southampton Central and leave by the southern side of the station. There are taxi ranks on both sides, and taxis can drop you outside your terminal. Horizon (about 12 minutes) and City (about 15 minutes) are walkable; for Ocean, QEII and Mayflower, take a taxi. Terminal guides →

Which airport is closest to Southampton cruise port?

Southampton Airport is about 20–25 minutes' drive from the terminals. Bournemouth is about 45 minutes, Heathrow about 1 hour 25 minutes and Gatwick about 1 hour 45 minutes. Allow extra time for traffic.
